I'm back with some new pages in my journal

Ok, this was a long time without posting...
This is what happened :
My son (age 11) has autism, Tourette and ADHD, he had a lot of problems in school lately. So I started home-schooling him today! I had to (temporally) stop my job to do this.
The next pages are a little about my feelings about this...

I used a lot of Neocolor II on these pages.
The details are markers.

Latest pages in my journal

Hello,
It has been a busy week for my family, so time for art was a bit short.
But I managed to do these two pages:

Elfjes
I painted the background with light-green acrylic wash.
Then a very watery green, with alcohol-drops.
I made a template for the "trees" with paper.
Then I stamped darker green acrylic with a sponge.
Collaged some tulips and pattern paper for the girl.

Universe
I've read this quote somewhere online and really loved it...
it fits right next to this dreamy-blue girl.
This page is made with acrylic paint and details with markers.

Art Journal page: Gratitude

This is a page with lighter colors then I normally use, and no acrylic paint or black outline :)
It was fun to make and I like how it turned out, maybe I'll do another one like this next time...

Here's how I made this:
Pencil drawing on the watercolor-pages of my journal.
(and that's my new Moleskine-pencil "2B")

A layer of gesso...
This protects the drawing.

Decided to try pencils to color in the skin tone.

Background with Inktense pencils...

I just love these pencils.
You don't need to apply a lot to create rich color.
Colors used: Deep blue, bright blue, Iris blue...
(difficult to see this on the photo's, I know)

Rubbed the background with tissue-paper to create some structure.
And I used Deep blue for the eyes.

Collage dress. (a nice pattern found in a magazine)
And Inktense pencil (willow) for the hair.

More Inktense pencil for the darker tone. (sepia ink)
Also used to shade the dress.

To finish the page I used markers (Copic) and more collage...

2 new Art Journal pages

"Yellow"
The first one started with bright yellow all over the page (fluid acrylics).
Then some napkins-collage sunflowers and butterflies.
The face was done by painting over a magazine-image.

"Pink"

For this page I started with gesso and Neocolor II,
napkins collage for the hearts.
The girl was drawn with Copic markers on layout paper.

More Neocolors on the bottom of the page,
the details and hair are done with markers.

Art journal page: Work work

Hello,

I have so much work lately, and so little time for the fun stuff... Here's my page about this:

Some colors to start. (Inktense pencils)

Collage. I liked the expression on her face ;)

Fluid Acrylics.

More collage and some text. Colored the dress with markers.

Details with markers, paper napkins collage, more acrylic paint.

The finished page with details in paint-markers.
Can you guess my job?

Mini Art Journal finished

It was fun to make. I decorated the cover with paint-markers.
The small size made it easy to finish a page, but it's time to continue working in my larger book now.

Art Journal page: Who will save me?

When I started this, I had no idea what the finished page would look like. It changed all the time. That happens a lot when I'm Art-Journaling.

I made some photo's along the way...

Started with a layer of gesso,
and a drawing with Inktense pencils.

A second layer of Inktense pencils.
I wanted to add collage flowers...
but now it looked like an underwater scene...

So I added some bubbles with acrylic paint and bubble wrap...

At this point I wanted to glue something....
so added pieces of paper napkins, with flower-pattern, all over the page...

It looked a bit full so I toned the top part down with a mix of acrylics: white, blue and green.

Now it looked a bit mysterious... a mermaid could be living there.
So I drew a picture of a mermaid on layout paper (with Copic markers).
And made the tail with pattern paper.

More markers to draw the hair, and to color the tail...

I wonder what she could be holding?

I added a net with gel pen.
And details in the hair with black marker.

More details on the net with a fine blue marker.
Shadow under the mermaid with Inktense pencil.
Art journal page:(Mermaid) Who will save me?
Ready to add some text...

Step by step: Art journal page "Autumn" with collage background.Part 2

Step 5:

I used gold acrylic paint to lighten up the dark parts in the background. (Golden Fluid acrylics)
Step 6: last details and text

Added some images from magazines and details with markers.
Text: I used an old poem about fall on the background, written in brown marker. I like how the poem discribes the "golden light" of the sun, on the golden paint :)
